This initiative sought to empower residents with knowledge\, encouraging vigilance and active participation in combating corruption. \nIn a parallel effort to raise awareness\, the Municipal Magistrate and his team of dedicated staff embarked on a community walk\, starting from the Council premises\, passing through the bustling Kumba Main Market\, and extending to local parks and neighborhoods. Throughout the walk\, they preached the anti-corruption message with vigor\, engaging directly with business owners and residents. \nThe Mayor cautioned business owners to pay all taxes exclusively at the official taxation office\, warning them to be wary of third parties posing as Council workers. \n \nHe also reminded those seeking vital documents\, such as birth certificates\, that only the Civil Status office is authorized to issue these\, strongly advising against acquiring fake documents from unauthorized sources. \nTo enforce this fight\, the Mayor has produced new badges for council workers carrying their names\, phone numbers\, functions for easy identification.
